From a very young age, Joseph was taught that it was more important to be responsible, get a job and support his family, than to go after his dreams.
And Joseph took on those beliefs from his family. He prioritized responsibility and built a successful career for himself as a Vice President of Sales.
But a dream was growing inside of him.
And when he was 22 years old, he had a life-changing experience: He attended a service at Unity Church in Detroit, Michigan.
Unity Church was founded by Mary Morrissey’s mentor, Jack Boland.
“I sat through a service and it lit a fire in my soul beyond anything I had ever recognized before,” Joseph says.
During that service, a seed was planted in Joseph – a seed to inspire and serve others. But it would be a long time before he nourished that seed and helped it grow. For decades, he focused on his responsible job, and each time he thought that it might be wonderful to transition to a career that would allow him to inspire others, he pushed the thought away.
Eventually, not following his dreams led to some unfortunate circumstances.
“With each one of those steps I went up that corporate ladder, the more painful it got in where my real desires and my passion and my love for my life was. And at some point, I turned to alcohol and I turned to food and I turned to gambling… and that led to experiencing divorce in my life after a 20-year marriage.”
Not only did Joseph experience hardship in his romantic life, but his health was suffering, as well. Joseph was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Joseph found himself dreaming of getting out of the city and living closer to nature.
One night, when he was driving home from work, Joseph had a breakdown. He felt lost and knew he needed a change, so he asked God to show him the way.
One week later, during a Chamber of Commerce meeting, he met a Life Mastery Consultant. He introduced himself to her and during their conversation he felt that passion inside of him light up again.
After decades of unfulfilling work, Joseph had finally discovered what he really wanted to do!
Shortly after, he made the decision to become a DreamBuilder Coach.
Within 45 days of becoming a certified DreamBuilder Coach, Joseph was earning a five-figure income that not only paid for his certification, but gave him extra income on top of that!
Can you guess what he did with that extra income?
Recently, he moved into his dream cabin… in the South Carolina mountains.
“I resigned from corporate America and I’m doing what I love: speaking and inspiring people to live their passion… and today, after all those years of following what people told me was responsibility, for me, responsibility means that every Monday is fun day… and I enjoy the heck out of every Monday of my life.”
