Spotlighting Facilitator Didi Selwa
Didi Selwa spent 25 years in the banking industry, always feeling a whisper inside saying, “You are meant for more.” When she was laid off, she attended DreamBuilder Live and discovered her true calling: to coach and help people. This realization was the beginning of a transformative journey that led her to become a certified coach with Brave Thinking Institute and a certified TranscenDance™ Facilitator.
Didi’s enrollment in our programs unlocked a new level of freedom, confidence, and purpose. Attending the Vibrant Healthy Woman retreat with Jennifer Joy Jiménez, Didi experienced a full TranscenDance™ class, where she felt complete freedom from self-judgment. This pivotal moment led her to embrace her femininity, love her body, and commit to becoming a TranscenDance™ Facilitator.
Through her training, Didi learned to embody her dreams and use TranscenDance™ as a powerful tool to elevate her happiness and well-being. Setting a hard deadline to complete her training and submit her Dancertation, Didi pushed through her nerves and successfully earned her certification, ready to teach with confidence.
The benefits of Didi’s transformation extend beyond her personal growth. Her newfound freedom and confidence have significantly impacted her students and clients. As a facilitator at Torrance Memorial Hospital’s community classes, employee retreats, health fairs, women’s events, and her own classes in various settings, Didi has inspired many to find their own paths to health and joy. Participants have shared profound experiences, such as feeling goosebumps when surrendering to the dance and feeling connected to loved ones through the movement.
Didi’s dedication to her growth and her commitment to helping others are truly commendable. She is now planning to host more local weekend retreats in Southern California and offer her classes on the beach and in nature, continuing to share the magic of TranscenDance™ with even more people.
We celebrate you, Didi, for your unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth, and for embracing and spreading happiness through the transformative power of TranscenDance™. Your journey is a testament to the incredible impact of living life on purpose, with confidence and vibrant health.

A Tribute to Women’s Equality
Women’s Equality Day is on August 26th
Women’s equality has seen an incredible journey over the past century. From a time when women couldn’t vote or own property to today, where they lead as entrepreneurs and change-makers, the progress is profound. This transformation stems from the suffrage movement and the adoption of the 19th Amendment in 1920, granting American women the right to vote, achieved through the relentless efforts of suffragists.
Women have since made remarkable strides in education, outnumbering men in college enrollment, and in the workplace, breaking the glass ceiling. Figures like Jacinda Ardern, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Kamala Harris, the first female Vice President of the United States, exemplify this progress. NASA astronaut Sally Ride and mathematician Katherine Johnson have shown that the sky is no limit, and in medicine, pioneers like neurosurgeon Sofia Ionescu continue to lead and innovate.
Women’s Equality Day on August 26th commemorates the 19th Amendment’s adoption. It’s a day to honor trailblazers like my mother, a teen mom who became a successful teacher and personal growth thought leader, paving the way for myself and thousands of women. Her journey is a testament to perseverance and vision.
Despite these achievements, the fight for equality continues, as women still face disparities in pay and representation. The ongoing journey toward equality means creating a world where every girl can pursue any dream without limitation, ensuring equal pay, representation, and opportunities.
At Brave Thinking Institute’s Health & Well-Being Division, we celebrate these strides while acknowledging the ongoing journey. My coaching and retreats, like the Vibrant Healthy Woman Program and TranscenDance™️, empower women to unlock their full potential, embracing their health, confidence, and dreams. By fostering environments of equality and respect, and supporting women in their pursuits, we can create a brighter future for all.

3 Ways to achieve lasting happiness

In today’s fast-paced world, finding lasting happiness can seem elusive. However, TranscenDance™ offers a powerful avenue for cultivating joy and well-being. This movement practice is not just about physical exercise; it engages the mind, body, and spirit, leading to profound personal transformation. Here are three ways TranscenDance™ can create lasting happiness and how you can incorporate it into your life.
Emotional Release and Healing:
How It Works: TranscenDance™ provides a safe space to express and release emotions that may be trapped within the body. Through movement, individuals can access and process feelings that are often buried deep within, such as sadness, anger, and fear. This emotional release is a form of catharsis, helping to clear out negative emotions and make space for positive feelings like joy and peace.
How to Use It:
- Attend Regular Classes: Join a TranscenDance™ class in your community or online. Regular participation helps you to continuously process and release emotions.
- Create a Dance Ritual: Dedicate time each week to dance freely in your home. Put on music that resonates with your current emotional state and let your body move in any way it needs.
- Journal After Dancing: After a dance session, take a few minutes to write down any thoughts or feelings that surfaced. This helps to integrate the emotional release and provides insights into your inner world.
Mindfulness and Presence:
How It Works: TranscenDance™ encourages mindfulness, bringing attention to the present moment through movement. - Join Our Dance Community: Look for in person ,local or online dance communities where you can participate in group dances like ours . Engaging with others who share a passion for TranscenDance™ really supports the feeling of togetherness and joy..
- Host Dance Gatherings: If you enjoy organizing, consider hosting dance gatherings, or becoming a facilitator yourself with friends or community members. Create a welcoming space where everyone can express themselves freely. Perhaps become a Facilitator yourself
- Participate in Dance Events: Attend workshops, retreats, or festivals focused on TranscenDance™and movement or conscious dance. These events often provide opportunities to connect deeply with others and experience collective joy.
