Lauren Brollier Newton
All right, well, welcome to the Abundant Coach. And boy, have I got a good one for you today. I am so thrilled about interviewing our next guest, Judy Matichak. I will just say, for me personally has been an inspiration, a great great friend, an ally, a cheerleader, and I’m thrilled to be able for her to share with you this podcast, which is in many ways going to be about legacy and the legacy that we’re all living.
00;01;00;02 – 00;01;16;29
Lauren Brollier Newton
And by the way, I think Judy would agree with me. It doesn’t have anything to do with how old you are. Legacy is about so much more. So we’re going to talk about that. But to tell you a little bit about Judy. Judy was certified as a life mastery consultant with Brave Thinking Institute all the way back in the way back in 2011.
00;01;17;01 – 00;01;39;05
Lauren Brollier Newton
And so Judy has been doing this coaching work for more than a decade, but she hasn’t just been coaching. Judy has been to every event, to every coach certification. In fact, last year she won the Personal Development the Personal Growth Award at Brave Thinking Institute, celebrating how Judy just continuously is growing and staying in the work. So we’ll talk about that for sure today.
00;01;39;08 – 00;02;01;13
Lauren Brollier Newton
But her mission is to shift and uplift the planet, and she’s done that so very much with the hundreds and hundreds of clients that she served. And she in fact, when she was still teaching school, she was a special ed teacher, won the Dream Builder Achievement Award back in 2014. So we just have so much to talk about, about legacy, about serving others, about uplifting and shifting the planet.
00;02;01;14 – 00;02;09;04
Lauren Brollier Newton
So it’s my pleasure to introduce you to the amazing Judy. Judy, thank you for being here.
00;02;09;06 – 00;02;13;09
Judy Matejczyk
Thanks, Lauren. Way to go, mama. Thank you.
00;02;13;09 – 00;02;31;23
Lauren Brollier Newton
Do you remember Judy? I know you’re going to remember this. Do you remember when I very first start? I don’t even think I had even signed up for anything yet. And you and I were on a break at Dream Builder Live, and we happened to see each other at a sandwich shop and just sit next to each other and have have lunch together and talk, and it’s like, that was the start of a great friendship.
00;02;31;26 – 00;02;46;17
Judy Matejczyk
Oh, I remember that really well because we were at Z pizza, and you remember that on the corner. And we were started talking about all the new school supplies when you get them and the smelly markers. Yeah.
00;02;46;20 – 00;02;50;04
Lauren Brollier Newton
Smelly markers. You have to have the Mister sketch. Smelly markers.
00;02;50;07 – 00;03;17;15
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah. And I also remember how frightened you were at the time and how much, just just seeing you there. I’m like, oh, right. I know right where you are. If you are in the school system and, you know, you were on that course, it was so beautiful watching you. Yeah. I love it when people are like, you are.
00;03;17;17 – 00;03;33;23
Lauren Brollier Newton
Yeah. You know, it’s so great because when you’ve been on the journey, I mean, you had been so far down the path already and you look at someone just starting and you remember what they felt. I mean, I think that’s why we all decide to become coaches is we want what we’ve learned for everybody. We want them to have it, too.
00;03;33;24 – 00;03;38;07
Lauren Brollier Newton
We want them to know it’s okay. Like so powerful.
00;03;38;09 – 00;04;12;21
Judy Matejczyk
Oh, absolutely. And then you take it back into wherever you are. Your unity, your churches, the people you see at the grocery store and but when I was listening to, Brian Proctor’s book the m m f I, you know, that simple make me feel important. So when someone is asking them questions about that, what about you?
00;04;12;23 – 00;04;30;19
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love that. So Judy, tell me. So you were certified at Brave Thinking Institute before it was called Brave Thinking Institute. All back in 2011. So tell us about tell us about that journey. Like, how did you decide to get certified as a coach or special ed teacher? How did that all happen?
00;04;30;21 – 00;05;02;15
Judy Matejczyk
Oh man. Well, yeah, I used to go to marriage events out in LA. They were like big parties in January where, you know, Kenny Loggins gay and Rick. So you get up on stage and I mean, it was a big party, and I used to go to. Oh, but even before then, Mary came. It was when she was traveling from church to church to church, giving her message, and she came in to Austin to, Unity Church in the Hills.
00;05;02;17 – 00;05;31;14
Judy Matejczyk
And I was sitting in the pews just burnout like crazy from work, work, work, you know, with that site. Dori, she was up there and I’m like, I wonder if I wonder if I could ever, be her friend. I wonder, you know, because, like, I didn’t. And so anyway, she gave workshop that afternoon, but I went back and Karen Joyce was there.
00;05;31;16 – 00;06;05;08
Judy Matejczyk
Karen and I, we traveled together. What a team. And, Karen was back there selling the merchandise, merch. Swag. The swag. And there was a book here called I am a miracle. And it was this book, right? And this book is a comp, like, it’s like all the writers, artists and musicians and this was manifested through, you know, these early people who used to go to Mary’s events.
00;06;05;11 – 00;06;30;24
Judy Matejczyk
So I bought that book and then the back in the book it says if you have a short story, submit it. You could be a part of our next publication. So like I’ve learned to do from Matt and everybody. And so I speed off and I sat down and wrote a story about Hurricane Katrina. Come in, Austin and all the people in the convention center, they were all here.
00;06;30;27 – 00;07;13;06
Judy Matejczyk
I wrote the story of my recovery through going into the convention center and being very scared about crossing that line. That boundary. I told everybody on the outside, y’all go down. And here I got down there, all these people on the street, parents, babies, and I’m like, I can’t do that. I made a commitment. So I lost my car, went into the volunteer thing, and I saw all these people in the community as the community that I admire, as well as everybody on the courts and everything.
00;07;13;06 – 00;07;40;14
Judy Matejczyk
And all I could say is, welcome to Austin. You couldn’t have found a better place. And I became a part of people that I admire. But anyway, I wrote that story, I submitted it, it was part of the publication of these the next four volumes. I became the head person, I think historian. I, we, we put out four volumes of that.
00;07;40;14 – 00;08;22;12
Judy Matejczyk
And, and that’s where it led me to marry one of my friends at the church said, At unity she goes, well, you have to go up to Portland because you’re releasing the book that you’re you’re in. And I’m like, I can’t take off for. I don’t have money. And licenses. Yeah, sure. I’m paying for it. You’re going we went up there and I’m sitting there, and that’s when I first saw, Marianne Williamson, Daniel name on, who else was up there?
00;08;22;15 – 00;08;49;21
Judy Matejczyk
Oh, Michael Beckwith. Michael Ripley. Beckwith. Because it was another one of her gathering and, sign books and all that came home, and I’m like, I don’t know these people. And then, anyway, that was the start of it. And then then in a couple of these events later, Karen and I was also in a marriage for students and life mastery right here.
00;08;49;21 – 00;09;21;05
Judy Matejczyk
It used to do it together. I remember life mastery and health care and and then that was like week after she was diagnosed and she came on it. The class. And she called it her adventure in, well-being or something like that, or I forget the name. She put it out when she got diagnosed, she went to get a hot fudge sundae.
00;09;21;07 – 00;09;31;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love that, in case they don’t know, Mary’s business partner, Karen Joys, can you share with the audience what she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
00;09;31;05 – 00;09;50;19
Judy Matejczyk
And that was a whole nother story of her venture. Wellness is what she called it. And so she went on to teach at home month and I was fascinated. We became part of her adventure in wellness. Every bit. She used to have parties at the end where she was giving away her clothes. Did you know about that.
00;09;50;22 – 00;09;52;26
Lauren Brollier Newton
I yeah, you told me about that.
00;09;52;28 – 00;10;27;14
Judy Matejczyk
And, on and on and on. So then Karen, I remember going and Karen also was a trainer at those early training, and I remember saying, oh, I love your hair, Karen. And, you know, and she it’s so we, you know. Yeah. But, at any rate, yeah, whenever it comes in doing better live the part about Karen and, excuse me, I just pair up because, that’s the legacy.
00;10;27;14 – 00;10;55;22
Judy Matejczyk
And then when Mary decided at one of the trainings that she was going to release this life mastery program, she took a certain amount of us into this small room at the Marriott, and there were candles lit and everything in Heidi. Right? Candles lit, and it was in the dark. And Mary got up on the stool and said, you know, this is Karen’s legacy.
00;10;55;24 – 00;11;22;19
Judy Matejczyk
I mean, I created this and we’re releasing it with reverence to you. And so when I started teaching Life Mastery that curriculum, I have so much respect for everything that went into that. And it’s such a privilege to know that legacy that created that.
00;11;22;21 – 00;11;26;25
Lauren Brollier Newton
Did you always see yourself as a coach?
00;11;26;27 – 00;11;33;21
Judy Matejczyk
Oh heck no. I.
00;11;33;23 – 00;11;39;10
Judy Matejczyk
Well, actually.
00;11;39;12 – 00;12;13;25
Judy Matejczyk
I had a lot of people trying to coach me and I’m like, oh no, you don’t make. I’m not listening to you. I was a special ed middle school resource math teacher, which know we got all the football players in there that really do serve all of the people that have, they were like, kind of like I was in school.
00;12;13;27 – 00;12;47;21
Judy Matejczyk
And so, and I did that for many, many years. And, When, when they would not behave right. I had the coaches in my back pocket and, every now and then I would bring up the coaches and they would stand in the back of my room, and everybody straightened up because they knew that they were going to have extra laps.
00;12;47;23 – 00;13;23;05
Judy Matejczyk
Before that, it was like, when I became certified, I took the Dream Builder program into the classroom, and I treat it. And every single one of those students had a vision. What would you love? And that was totally and not question. I mean, no, but the I had the the kids that nobody they had filled out it everybody else’s classes and he landed with me.
00;13;23;07 – 00;13;57;20
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah. Little did they know, many of them, they wanted to get away from me. The only way to get away is, you know, by asking them and having them write down and more importantly, treating them like their vision. The guys, the football players wanted to be NFL football. Football players. I’m like, great. So I would treat them like that.
00;13;57;23 – 00;14;17;26
Judy Matejczyk
This is the game for NFL players. You think they show up in time for their training for their class. Do you think they have sharpened pencils? You think you know this and that and then boom, boom, boom, boom. And I would I would yeah, coach. And I would treat them like coaches, you know. And they did not like that.
00;14;17;28 – 00;14;24;24
Judy Matejczyk
They wanted what they would do and they would fight, fight, fight. And they wanted to get sent to the principal’s office.
00;14;24;27 – 00;14;51;04
Lauren Brollier Newton
Well, exactly. Because when you get sent to the principal’s office, you don’t have to do anything. You’re just kind of sitting around. I love that. I love that you treated them like the vision. You help them see that the vision has certain behaviors. So in the beginning of your coaching business, Judy, were you bringing it to anybody outside the school or was it first like, I’m going to how did that like so you get certified, how did you start bringing it to the world?
00;14;51;07 – 00;15;29;16
Judy Matejczyk
Okay, what I was doing, I was doing what I did with the students. And then at night and on weekends I was coaching there. So it was like 24 hours a day and my mind was going, like creating, creating. Then I remember my first vision workshop was at my friend’s house, and one of the people that we showed up at that was definitely plenty.
00;15;29;19 – 00;15;35;01
Lauren Brollier Newton
For those of you who don’t know, Stephanie, Stephanie’s one of our very successful coaches here at the Institute.
00;15;35;03 – 00;15;55;06
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah. And and it was our group of friends. And I remember going there and it was like, have you ever heard the gorilla joke. Oh it was, it was a joke that you told. That was the joke before the mother mouse joke.
00;15;55;08 – 00;15;59;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
Okay. So do you remember it. Can you tell it to us.
00;15;59;04 – 00;16;31;02
Judy Matejczyk
It was about a man totally out of work. Totally busted everything on the streets and everything. And I was looking through the newspaper and the want ads were needed. And it was for this zoo. Needed someone that was big, burly, and, could act like a gorilla. Right? So we went in and it was the pay was $1,000 a day.
00;16;31;04 – 00;16;56;00
Judy Matejczyk
And so I went in for the interview and they said, well, listen, can you do this? You better fit into the gorilla suit. And I was like, because a real gorilla ran away. We can’t find her and we need someone to stand in for her. Yeah, right. Because the crowds are coming in. And the only reason I came into the zoo is to see the gorilla.
00;16;56;02 – 00;17;10;13
Judy Matejczyk
So we put on a relaxed new. And he got really good at being a gorilla. You just seen me already do this early.
00;17;10;16 – 00;17;43;04
Judy Matejczyk
And he. Oh, good at it. It makes all this fun. Is like in the gorilla scanner. And when we got in, the crowds came and everything like that. And he got so good swinging from tree to tree to tree and and a swing up and and he let go and he plunged right down into the lions cage. Nation of girls and just lions coming up to him like this turn up and he starts going, oh no, I’m not really a career.
00;17;43;11 – 00;17;57;03
Judy Matejczyk
No, I’m just a man in a gorilla suit. And the lion gets up close to him and says, shut up, you’ll get us all killed. You’re get us all fired.
00;17;57;06 – 00;17;58;18
Lauren Brollier Newton
That’s so good.
00;17;58;20 – 00;18;11;13
Judy Matejczyk
And the point of the story is right. You act as if put on the suit, show up. You do the great love that.
00;18;11;15 – 00;18;16;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
So you have your first workshop in the living room of a good friend’s house?
00;18;16;04 – 00;18;17;15
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah, it was fun.
00;18;17;17 – 00;18;21;27
Lauren Brollier Newton
Did you enroll clients from that workshop?
00;18;21;29 – 00;18;40;08
Judy Matejczyk
You know, I don’t even remember. I just did it. Yeah, it was just what? You know, it was like the first time out to do anything new. I don’t even think I was supposed to enroll client, you know, I don’t know. You know, it’s.
00;18;40;08 – 00;18;56;06
Lauren Brollier Newton
So funny about the studio is there’s so many coaches who are listening that are either certified with us and haven’t done their first workshop, or they haven’t been certified anywhere. And they’re they’re not sure if they want to be a coach. And there’s other people listening who maybe have different modalities but don’t know how to grow the business.
00;18;56;09 – 00;19;13;26
Lauren Brollier Newton
And it’s so funny because we put so much emphasis on just putting ourselves out there. And I think it’s hysterical that Judy doesn’t even remember what happened on the first one. Like, we think it’s so scary. And Judy’s like, it was great. I don’t really remember. And I want everybody to just take that and hold it, because the important part is that Judy got started.
00;19;13;29 – 00;19;31;22
Lauren Brollier Newton
It doesn’t matter how perfect she was who enrolled. The important part is Judy started. That’s the thing. Now, Judy, I heard that you used your teacher retirement. You cashed out your retirement to get your coaching certification. Tell us that. Were you, like, shaking in your boots?
00;19;31;24 – 00;19;55;15
Judy Matejczyk
Well, I couldn’t even talk to you, but that’s okay. That’s the beauty of being enrolled by Karen Joyce, right? Because I been hanging around everything. And then she called me and she said, you know, you need to be like, you need to get certified as a coach. I’m like, I’m not ready. I don’t know this stuff. I don’t even know half the people who are here.
00;19;55;17 – 00;20;06;06
Judy Matejczyk
You’re living this, Judy. You’re like, is this you’ve been living these principles. And I’m like, okay.
00;20;06;08 – 00;20;08;23
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love it. You’re like, all right, I’ll try it.
00;20;08;26 – 00;20;31;22
Judy Matejczyk
But then, you know, because you don’t say no to care. And then, you know, it was back on the telephone back then. I remember I had to get a data phone plan. That was when it was minutes. You have to pay for so many minutes. Yep. And at any rate, I remember, like, not wanting to talk to Karen to say I was going to do this in my voice.
00;20;31;22 – 00;21;06;12
Judy Matejczyk
I lost my voice. Now I call it my throat chakra. Yeah. And I got on the phone with her and I’m like, and she told me I must do this. And I’m like, oh. And it was a lot less than what you guys are playing. Yeah. And, I feel like I’m doing, do it. And, and I have my teacher retirement and she back to me like, yes, you know what you’re going to do when you retire?
00;21;06;15 – 00;21;29;27
Lauren Brollier Newton
Judy, this is so great. I, I love this because I was just in one of our Facebook groups the other day, and, someone was saying, you know, I really want to become a certified coach, but, you know, it’s a lot of money and da da da. And someone wrote in the comments, I never go into debt to do something like this.
00;21;30;00 – 00;21;49;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
And I and my heart went out to that person making the comment and the person who made the post because I’m like, what they don’t know is a lot. And this is why we do what we do, because you and I were the crazy asses who were like, hey, I’ll, I’ll cash in my retirement to do this. And the reason why, you can tell me why you did it, Judy.
00;21;49;02 – 00;22;04;25
Lauren Brollier Newton
But for me, well, I was living in my parents basement. I didn’t have any money, I was divorced, I was trying to get my life back together, and I took a chance on my certification, I think, because I was at rock bottom. So I was like, whenever you’re at rock bottom, you’re the only place you can go is up at this point.
00;22;04;27 – 00;22;21;28
Lauren Brollier Newton
But, but the reason I was willing to make the investment in coach certification is because I wanted to go, as Bob Proctor would say. I wanted to go there. I wanted to be a person on this planet. I wanted to help lots of people. I wanted to have lots of wealth for myself so that I could help more people.
00;22;22;05 – 00;22;40;19
Lauren Brollier Newton
Like, I never saw it as, oh, I’m just going into debt. Maybe it’s because I had such motivation and such passion. I knew I was going to do something with it. But what do you think has given you the courage over and over again from that first certification on, to keep investing in yourself, in a world where people are like, don’t go into debt over that.
00;22;40;22 – 00;23;25;13
Judy Matejczyk
It’s use that word. It’s investing. It’s it’s the net. It’s the next run. When you know what my first vision was there first workshop. What my do is I will I always study with masters. Mary was the master and I promised myself I would constantly, always study with the master teachers. I’ve studied other teachers and, they were masters in what they were doing.
00;23;25;15 – 00;23;53;26
Judy Matejczyk
Mary is the will. I look at her is the master. And then. And she’s helped me personally through so many paradigms where when you face to face with her, back then everything was face to face. She took me by the shoulders and she would look me straight in the eyes like this and goes, you are more than that.
00;23;53;29 – 00;24;19;22
Judy Matejczyk
And I remember so many times where I was so tired, so it was just like my family is falling apart, this and that, and I got to quit this. I mean, I’ve got I got to quit doing this. I got to do this and, and Matt and her son and daughter, and Jennifer and I and and, Matt.
00;24;19;26 – 00;24;32;24
Judy Matejczyk
Mary would Mary’s like you are more than that. Well, that I will I will never forget that. Jennifer Hermanas, you have the power.
00;24;32;27 – 00;24;34;05
Lauren Brollier Newton
00;24;34;20 – 00;25;02;29
Judy Matejczyk
And then I knew it’s like the, you know, that whole training and training with the key believers, they believe in me and I me. I. You know, I, I want that, I want a master teacher. To believe. Yes. And that’s where I believe in other people as well. I could see that in you when you came in.
00;25;03;02 – 00;25;07;05
Judy Matejczyk
That’s right. If you’re willing to do the work.
00;25;07;07 – 00;25;16;17
Lauren Brollier Newton
Yeah. Judy, how has your life changed since you got certified in 2011?
00;25;16;20 – 00;25;54;24
Judy Matejczyk
Well. The other vision is I will never work in four walls ever again. I will, and so I work, my I work, I do my coaching, my taking my thing from outdoors all the time, you know, and, so I, I how have I changed? I see, I see nature, I see people. I love watching you mamas with new babies.
00;25;54;26 – 00;26;08;26
Judy Matejczyk
My life is changed in that during all these years, my grandson, who was young, he would work the back of the room at my workshops.
00;26;08;29 – 00;26;10;28
Lauren Brollier Newton
Oh, I love that.
00;26;11;01 – 00;26;21;17
Judy Matejczyk
You know, I he like that though, right? You would make cookies, bring them to there and we would sell cookies that that I.
00;26;21;17 – 00;26;24;07
Lauren Brollier Newton
Love that he’s like he’s an entrepreneur.
00;26;24;08 – 00;26;52;10
Judy Matejczyk
First time entrepreneur are going after the workshops. We would go kayaking and it was our time together. And he would be sitting in the workshop doing Time Machine with like, you know, the people that came and they would ask him, what’s your vision? You know, he also had a vision and he threw it out. The horse ran the whole kit garden through my mom and the whole thing.
00;26;52;12 – 00;27;20;21
Judy Matejczyk
And he had so many people listening to him. And then he was would know over and over and over. That is legacy, right? There is money, you know, and then my, my daughter’s and my son, oh my gosh, my son Jody. And they, my daughters have been in different programs. They come into the programs for a little bit in the groups and then they go, we just want mom.
00;27;20;21 – 00;28;00;08
Judy Matejczyk
And I’m like, fine. And, there’s so many things like the the voices in my head now are there is only one thing happening here divine intelligence. So this is it. We’re coming on one year anniversary of when my son, Jody was riding his bike out here and got hit by a truck. And I got the phone call and everything, and the only thing I heard in my head is there’s only one thing happening here divine intelligence.
00;28;00;10 – 00;28;31;22
Judy Matejczyk
And so I came across that, and there was only thing happening there. And the recovery from that was very quick because the first thing we did, you sat down, I said, okay, let’s write a vision for your healing. You want to heal, right? What your goal was this. And we we created the vision. Everything is vision created. The other thing is a vision.
00;28;31;24 – 00;29;02;14
Judy Matejczyk
Once we have a vision for the month, I like wake day and I do that. The very thing that that I’ve been, you know, when I study in whatever maps is to do, I do. And when he said, okay, there’s this thing called Facebook Live, I heard him say, do it every day. So I did, and then I heard, you know, when you guys say something, okay, I’m doing it.
00;29;02;16 – 00;29;33;27
Judy Matejczyk
And, that’s the power I find different apps the the. I what I, what I’ve been using lately is this app called Sync Up. And it’s an app where you record your vision and it’s on repeat over and over and over and over again with music in the background. You get to create your music.
00;29;33;29 – 00;29;36;18
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love that it’s called Think Up.
00;29;36;20 – 00;29;54;10
Judy Matejczyk
Think Up, and I’ve been doing that for maybe about a year now. I learned that in a breakout room at some certification. Love that thinks in those breakout rooms. Yeah.
00;29;54;12 – 00;30;15;16
Lauren Brollier Newton
What Judy is speaking to is the willingness to do the things that are going to create the result that you want. So when Judy saying, if Matt says, do something, I do it. Matt is our, executive director here at the institute. He’s a marketing expert. He’s a YouTube star. And Judy, speaking to a willingness to do the things that are going to help you to create the success you want.
00;30;15;16 – 00;30;34;28
Lauren Brollier Newton
Judy, you have. I actually wrote down the question to ask you. You have great social media presence. So, Judy, record like she’ll be out at the lake or she’ll be on her walk and she’ll record some beautiful thing that’s happening that day, and she’ll put words and music to it. So is your social media a strategy? Is it spirit calling to you?
00;30;34;28 – 00;30;42;22
Lauren Brollier Newton
Like what? What? How do you know what to put on there? And what causes you to continue to grow your social media?
00;30;42;24 – 00;31;15;10
Judy Matejczyk
Oh yeah, all my buddies there. It started out, I mean, and also my email list and, you know, the whole thing. It started out, you want me to where it started on a cruise ship. We were being trained on a cruise ship and Mary gave us the direction. Go out and meet someone. One of the servers, one of the people that work on the ship and find out about them.
00;31;15;13 – 00;31;39;00
Judy Matejczyk
And so I went and I found somebody who was, you know, cleaning up and I. And it’s so you from the Philippines, you send money home to his family. He’s on that ship for nine months. And my heart went out. I got his email address and this and that. He’s on my email list. The other thing that are on my email list are the different, room service people.
00;31;39;02 – 00;32;15;18
Judy Matejczyk
And so that’s grown and grown and grown. And I put out an inspirational message every day to that list. Wow. That was I. You never know when you put it out that list right there. One of my friends takes, takes messages into women’s prisons. That’s her ministry. And she takes she would take my message into the women’s prison and they would discuss what the message was, like that.
00;32;15;20 – 00;32;55;06
Judy Matejczyk
And then the people. And so that started out there, then came the Facebook presence. And that’s all because Matt had this thing called Facebook Lives. Then in the last couple training to this thing called reels, and I got into doing that. And so, I love learning and being curious. So with the, with the, social media presence that I’ve definitely enrolled clients mostly through my social media presence, they say.
00;32;55;09 – 00;33;25;11
Judy Matejczyk
And a lot of my clients I’ve never met face to face. I’m going to meet a couple in Dreamweaver live in January. I’m looking forward to it. You know, and and they we know each other very intimately, very intimately. And, I could tell you client story after client because they follow me on social media. And I must admit, I very seldom do I put a call to action.
00;33;25;11 – 00;33;51;02
Judy Matejczyk
Right. It’s like that. I think that some someone it’s attraction more content. And so that’s very important. So every day I’m on social media and because it’s become a habit, one of the, one of the, John blogs, a long time ago is this book called The Greatest Salesman in the world.
00;33;51;04 – 00;33;53;25
Lauren Brollier Newton
Frogman Dino was such a great book.
00;33;53;28 – 00;34;12;13
Judy Matejczyk
And the first scroll is I form new habits and become their slave, through the habit. And usually the posts and everything. The things I put it are things that I’m currently struggling with.
00;34;12;15 – 00;34;31;13
Lauren Brollier Newton
That’s interesting. So when the top is. So let me make sure I’m understanding. The topic that you decide to post about is usually something that you’re struggling with. That is so freaking brilliant. Judy, I can’t even tell you. And this let me just let everybody hear this. The only reason Judy can do that is because she’s living the principles that she’s teaching.
00;34;31;15 – 00;34;37;25
Judy Matejczyk
Oh, yeah, they’re the paradigm through there. Yeah, I’m exactly. It’s a growing.
00;34;37;28 – 00;34;42;08
Lauren Brollier Newton
Fear. There’s going to be doubts. Yes. Oh, I do yeah.
00;34;42;08 – 00;35;12;28
Judy Matejczyk
And it has to it I mean it has to because if I’m going through something, the whole thing with paradigm shifters, which is another thing I created five years ago now, because that’s every week we have a guest speaker, every transformation to say, well, the reason that started was because Covid here and it was March of 2020 and like, oh my God, we need to connect.
00;35;12;28 – 00;35;44;14
Judy Matejczyk
So I thought maybe about 20 people would hop on. It just kept growing and growing and growing. Yes. Taking the temperature. You know how Mary talks about temperature and thermostat. It’s very important to take the temperature of what’s going on out there. Yeah. What’s going on out there? It’s affecting me. And I’ve got tools and principles to teach.
00;35;44;17 – 00;36;00;24
Judy Matejczyk
So if I’m feeling something, there’s always a principle. There. Yes. Currently I’m the only thing I’m teaching now. Is Dreamville over 2.0.
00;36;00;26 – 00;36;18;24
Lauren Brollier Newton
New program I love that. So so so to clue our audience in on what that is. So at at Brave Thinking Institute, all of our certified coaches are certified in a program called the Dream Builder Program. That means you get to learn the curriculum, teach it to clients, you learn how to coach it. You learn advanced coaching skills that go with it.
00;36;18;24 – 00;36;35;05
Lauren Brollier Newton
You learn how to enroll people in it. But every level of certification includes dream better. And we just released a new, expanded, version based on all of Mary’s learning over the last decade. And so, Judy, you’ve been taking that to the world.
00;36;35;07 – 00;37;05;04
Judy Matejczyk
Well, yeah. So all my groups are my group’s doing it. And the genius. I’m going to just pour some love on you. Did Jeannie, is is the five building blocks the breaking ground, which is totally about getting in touch with your higher source than the Blueprinting. Yes. So here’s where we are now. We are in week seven of bridging, which is bridging.
00;37;05;07 – 00;37;11;26
Judy Matejczyk
So what I’ve been able to do is go out and do my little video things from all these bridges around here.
00;37;11;29 – 00;37;20;03
Lauren Brollier Newton
Yes, Judy, I get chills thinking about it. So the I love this. The concept is bridging. So Judy’s literally going and teaching from bridges.
00;37;20;05 – 00;37;55;05
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Well and the cool thing is you guys are brilliant okay. So the paradigm of dissuasion right. The bridge is believing. So if you’re not going to believe in your dream, that’s what that whole bridge is all about. So all my clients, they are so in-tune with your crystal clear vision. The second paradigm that you guys thought was, distraction and delay.
00;37;55;07 – 00;38;14;18
Judy Matejczyk
And that bridge is, deciding. And the letter to yourself. All my clients went nuts. A letter to themselves. Okay, so just in the last couple days, we’re we’re doing the Def Con one.
00;38;14;20 – 00;38;19;10
Lauren Brollier Newton
Yes. The the fight flight freeze paradigm classic.
00;38;19;12 – 00;38;37;11
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah. So I lost my voice. I mean, it’s just coming back because I knew I was in Def Con one year that. Oh, I’m going to be on this podcast. Podcast? Oh John Astral. Oh it wasn’t so.
00;38;37;13 – 00;38;47;03
Lauren Brollier Newton
Well that’s funny Judy, because your throat chakra paradigm came up when you first enrolled. So you know that that’s a classic sign of Def con fight flight freeze, paradigm.
00;38;47;05 – 00;39;20;20
Judy Matejczyk
And oh, I just love, love, love the, befriending your fear. So I just taught that this morning. So I went to Grant last night to the group. I’ve taught it like four different times. Befriending your fear this week. Wow. Year round fear and say good night. I’m driving. You’re in the passenger seat. Yep. Hilarious. I mean, so I’m taking the driver’s seat.
00;39;20;23 – 00;39;25;08
Judy Matejczyk
It’s all in creation, isn’t it? It’s. We are here to be creators.
00;39;25;10 – 00;39;45;10
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love this, Judy. I love you can hear in Judy’s voice how much she loves teaching this curriculum, how much she loves helping people. And so, Judy, to go back to social media for a second. So because you don’t do a lot of call to actions on your social media, how does somebody, like you said, I get a lot of clients from social media.
00;39;45;10 – 00;39;51;15
Lauren Brollier Newton
So do they just message you or reach out? Like, how does that go? Is it sort of just organic how it gets created?
00;39;51;18 – 00;40;28;00
Judy Matejczyk
Well, it’s kind of interesting. Is this another tip from our training trainings, trainings, trainings. Right. And also, watching how you guys do it too. Okay. So, what I’ve learned is in the comment section, the very first comment to put my website, they let you do that and also YouTube channel. So whenever I go live stream or live things, I change the live stream into a YouTube.
00;40;28;02 – 00;40;30;18
Lauren Brollier Newton
Love that.
00;40;30;20 – 00;40;46;22
Judy Matejczyk
And, and so that’s growing and this is growing. But one of the things that, I was sharing yesterday is to get really, really proficient in 1 to 1 social media platform.
00;40;46;24 – 00;40;49;01
Lauren Brollier Newton
Is your Facebook.
00;40;49;03 – 00;41;01;28
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah. And yeah, it’s just at the current level of where I’m at now that it. But and I’m studying other things as well.
00;41;02;00 – 00;41;06;07
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love that. Have you turned on monetization for your Facebook?
00;41;06;09 – 00;41;07;00
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah.
00;41;07;02 – 00;41;25;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
That’s great. Book reached out to me for my personal page and they were like, you can monetize your personal page. I’m like, what? But the reason I didn’t turn it on is because most of my personal page is my kid, and I’m like, I’m not going to Mont. Why it, you know, like, let’s not let’s not go there.
00;41;25;02 – 00;41;47;05
Lauren Brollier Newton
If it if it weren’t for that, I would likely turn off monetization. But that’s the cool thing about what coaches have available for them is you can monetize a personal page. And what I what I mean when I say that is, if you don’t know how Facebook or Instagram works, is once Facebook or Instagram sees, you’ve got a lot of followers and a lot of people are staying on their platform because you’re posting content, they will start to pay you for their for creating content.
00;41;47;08 – 00;42;24;27
Judy Matejczyk
Which is interesting, isn’t it? And it and to to stay up to date with wherever things are going. Yeah, not really my main reason why I’m doing this. It goes back to your why and my why is impact impact impact. And not impact. Just this generation. I want to quit saying this, but when you reach a certain age, there is this thing where you’re seeing the mom is like you.
00;42;25;00 – 00;42;54;23
Judy Matejczyk
You’re seeing these kids, beautiful children. And what about these children’s children? I recently let me just tell you a quick story. There’s a brand new library that, that was created here in Cedar Park, Texas. And here I was devastated when they started to clear the land for that because they, you know, the trees. I get really kind of upset when they whenever.
00;42;54;25 – 00;43;24;03
Judy Matejczyk
And then I was also mad because they tore down buildings and stuff, and I wasn’t there. And then I found out it was going to be a library card and all the trash, everything there is environmentally way cool. Well, every time I go in there, I look at that as my second office, because you can go in these rooms up there that are solid glass at the top of the trees.
00;43;24;05 – 00;43;48;06
Judy Matejczyk
And I was doing my work and some coaching up there. I’m looking down. And they had taken rope swings from the top, the trees down, and were creating rope swings for the kids. Not that. Not only that, the workers were there testing out the rope swings in their hardhats. Not so great.
00;43;48;06 – 00;43;50;25
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love that.
00;43;50;28 – 00;44;25;09
Judy Matejczyk
And so in in the story about legacy, every time I go in there, I see something different that the people who had the ideas to create that are environmentally extensive, sensitive are definitely into the children. And the legacy of reading books are going up the stairs, and this whole wall is lined with planks, solid. And there’s a plaque there to the trees.
00;44;25;11 – 00;45;12;10
Judy Matejczyk
They take all the trees that they had cut down to build that and make planks that they are living their legacy now on the earth, and also the legacy of the books that are there. And I thought, that’s the legacy of these trees that were cut down to make a library do the book, to nurture those kids. So I, I, I just wanted to make a shout out to, to, people preserving the legacy the planet.
00;45;12;13 – 00;45;57;26
Judy Matejczyk
The animals. You know, these principles have been around for a long time, and I think it was living your legacy means consciously and intentionally living and creating things that you just might not see yet. So you’re not. Yeah. Every. One of the things Paul Martinelli taught us, he was in art. Marilyn Trainer. Coaches, coach, teachers, name writers. Right.
00;45;57;29 – 00;46;13;27
Judy Matejczyk
Every day. And then he would say, well, I’m on vacation. And you go, yeah, every single day. And so that’s what I do. That’s what we do. You do it.
00;46;14;00 – 00;46;41;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love that, Judy. When you’re listening to Judy speak, you can see how the way in which she’s looking at the world is through the lens of spiritual laws, spiritual principles, the work she’s doing with her clients who she wants to be in the world, the legacy that she’s leaving, that I think one of the things that especially newer coaches struggle with is they think that being a coach is over here, and then I’m being a mom and that’s over here, and then I’m going to teach school, and that’s over here.
00;46;41;02 – 00;47;01;20
Lauren Brollier Newton
And the truth is, everything is one that Kirsten Wells has a brilliant way that she looks at it, that if you’re teaching school but your ultimate dream is to be a coach, it’s all one thing happening. It’s your highly successful life. And maybe you’ll close the school division at some point. But there’s only one thing happening, and that’s you, the brilliant coach going through the world.
00;47;01;22 – 00;47;16;19
Lauren Brollier Newton
I remember when I first, you know, I don’t want to say when I was first certified, but I’m a couple years into it and I was coaching with Kirsten Wells, our master coach at the institute, and I said to her, I just want to be a visionary. I just want to be a philosopher. I just want to be a mystic.
00;47;16;19 – 00;47;39;24
Lauren Brollier Newton
I just want to look at the world in this way all the time, you know? And I was so I just wanted to be. That what you’re describing, Judy? Which is like, oh, every time I walk in the library, I see something new. And I think it’s really creating the intention that you’re going to now, from now on, see the world through a certain way, which is, like you said, coaches coach, teachers teach visionaries vision.
00;47;39;26 – 00;47;59;23
Lauren Brollier Newton
You know, philosophers think about the world and what it means. And so you do those things and in the way that you want to become. Judy, how do you not lose motivation or lose steam having having done this for over a decade now, what keeps you going?
00;47;59;26 – 00;48;06;27
Judy Matejczyk
Oh, my calendar.
00;48;07;00 – 00;48;31;22
Judy Matejczyk
I’m looking in my room right now. It’s like, when I do, it’s like I have, you know, those big desk calendars. You get off of that, I get one of those and I rip it all apart and it’s on my wall. It’s wallpaper. It’s it’s all and I, I know. I know the big rocks. Karen used to teach about big rocks.
00;48;31;22 – 00;49;04;14
Judy Matejczyk
And Mariel talk. Tell that story about when it’s big glass certification. She came and taught. She did her Big Rocks presentation and she went back home. She was kind of weak. When you’re big rocks, you put those on the calendar. And I’m not big rock. And January is doing better live in Los Angeles. I’m going to take Jodi, my son, for his 50th birthday, and we’re going to actually the ocean and play and swim in the ocean live it.
00;49;04;16 – 00;49;30;13
Judy Matejczyk
That’s a big rock. So the big rocks pool and looking and seeing on the calendar. Okay, I was really bummed out that we were going to have two weeks off if you guys. I don’t mean to say it like that, but it’s like, oh, I’m not. And also staying connected. Oh my gosh, stay connected. Those accelerating calls are very, very important.
00;49;30;16 – 00;50;09;21
Judy Matejczyk
The other thing is every day, every day when I wake up I go outside. And I point my body in the four different directions. And the first direction is the core value. Number one, believe in people. We know that each one of us is more powerful and contains more potential than any circumstance, situation, or condition. When I say that, that’s Annie like, oh yeah, that’s right.
00;50;09;24 – 00;50;35;13
Judy Matejczyk
They’re like, oh yeah, this way, love and care. And I love that love and care. That means I get to delight and surprise somebody. Today I carry around a whole bunch of, what do you call those? You know, the trinkets, the the things I carry those around with me all the time. And I get emails to random people all the time.
00;50;35;15 – 00;50;37;29
Lauren Brollier Newton
I have a kaleidoscope that you gave me.
00;50;38;01 – 00;50;39;01
Judy Matejczyk
Oh.
00;50;39;03 – 00;50;50;18
Lauren Brollier Newton
You had it. You had it in your bag in a dream builder live. And you said, here I was talking about something in my vision. You here, look through this, see your vision. And then you said to me, I said, oh my gosh, did you make this? And you said, I made it happen.
00;50;50;21 – 00;50;53;11
Judy Matejczyk
Yeah.
00;50;53;14 – 00;51;13;15
Lauren Brollier Newton
I also have the little animal pocket guide that you gave me at another dream builder life that you can look up, you know, you see an animal and what symbolism. So you know what, Judy? What I love about this is Judy’s talking about our life mastery consultant, dream builder, coach, brave thinking institute core values. And she’s not just reading them.
00;51;13;17 – 00;51;37;23
Lauren Brollier Newton
She’s seeing them. She’s being what who she wants to be in the world. Coaches coach, teachers teach, and all these little touch points she’s had in people’s lives. She could know that I still have the kaleidoscope and the bird book and everything. She could know what that meant to me or that I would still have them. But she’s doing that, being the person she wants to be in the world, leaving her legacy everywhere she goes.
00;51;37;25 – 00;51;39;08
Lauren Brollier Newton
Oh yeah, that’s so cool.
00;51;39;10 – 00;52;07;17
Judy Matejczyk
You know, the the thing that the, the that’s interesting. And I’m, I want to I that is this love receiving this well receiving the feedback I get feedback every day and it’s that receiving without holding the receiving back. So what I’ve come to do is when I receive something like, oh, I really like this email, or I really love this.
00;52;07;20 – 00;52;34;13
Judy Matejczyk
And I ask them, what did you like about it and what would you want more of? And I’ll make a note of that and I’ll go home and create whatever it is. The feedback I got. So I, I can’t off the top of my head, it’s like somebody else like, oh, I really liked it when you when you sent the email about, like, I’ll send one for about legacy.
00;52;34;14 – 00;53;01;19
Judy Matejczyk
Right. And then I’ll see what you like more about that. What. And and they’ll tell me and I’ll go home. I say, okay I’m going to create tomorrow’s just for you and share those. So another thing and is that love receiving like I’m not just receiving it for my ego, I receiving it for more ideas to pass on through me.
00;53;01;21 – 00;53;09;08
Judy Matejczyk
And so. Two days ago, I was at the Polar Bear Plunge. You know, the polar bear plunges.
00;53;09;11 – 00;53;12;08
Lauren Brollier Newton
You know, it sounds fantastic.
00;53;12;11 – 00;53;22;13
Judy Matejczyk
What’s New Year’s celebration? It’s where you jump in the water on New Year’s Day. It it’s old. Oh, yeah.
00;53;22;15 – 00;53;30;26
Lauren Brollier Newton
Oh, my gosh, that is a Judy Mitty dream. That is not my dream. I will watch you do that.
00;53;30;28 – 00;54;00;11
Judy Matejczyk
I love it a lot. And everybody, you know, it keeps your heart going for what it just keeps. Yes. So every New Year’s Day, my recovery crew, we go down and it’s Barton Springs. It’s the same temperature year round. Spring fed a big attraction in Austin. And they have the Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day. So some days it’s some winters it’s really cold, some not.
00;54;00;11 – 00;54;30;14
Judy Matejczyk
But you may people do it up north by you too. And that’s like the yeah. So I was down and I like to be I mean I’m a little competitive. I’m a lot competitive. So what I’d like to go down before the big group comes and go swimming. I love swimming in cold water. And I was I was swimming and I’m like, oh, well, I’m meeting all these people from all over the world who are plying me like water to.
00;54;30;17 – 00;54;51;01
Judy Matejczyk
So I’m talking to them. And here I see my group come down. There’s thousands of people that do this. They come down, they jump in, and there they are, and they’re all they’re all synchronizing. We’re going to jump in to get about 30 of them, right? And I’m in the water and says, okay, I’m going to count you guys off.
00;54;51;03 – 00;55;16;09
Judy Matejczyk
Like that. Like, okay, move over yourself. And I go, one, two, three. And they all jumped in and boy tidal wave. Right. And you know that’s recovery. You do crazy fun stuff. And I, I they all got out and I’m swimming. And then I got out and I couldn’t find it like oh they’re like the and it’s 42 degrees out.
00;55;16;11 – 00;55;43;24
Judy Matejczyk
I’m like. The cool thing is I’m so I’m a part of that community. One of my friends, when she wrapped me up in a towel and she goes, here, you’re nice and warm. Another person in that community, I don’t even know her name because you are such an inspiration. You’re so courageous. Really love whatever you share. And I wasn’t seeking that.
00;55;43;26 – 00;56;05;17
Judy Matejczyk
I mean, I don’t really love, you know, and all my life I think I’ve been seeking that for love. And I actually let it in. And she said, here, keep this towel and this bar, this really nice towel.
00;56;05;20 – 00;56;11;26
Lauren Brollier Newton
Yeah I love that Judy I love you said it when I asked you about what keeps you motivated.
00;56;11;29 – 00;56;12;11
Judy Matejczyk
Oh yeah.
00;56;12;11 – 00;56;39;16
Lauren Brollier Newton
You first thing you said was calendar. I don’t remember the second thing you said. Oh, you you, the people that you come across. And then the third thing that you said is receiving. I think it’s so important for everybody listening to realize that Judy’s success, her longevity in the business, the legacy that she’s leaving is based solely upon really a beingness.
00;56;39;19 – 00;56;57;03
Lauren Brollier Newton
Who does she want to be? Who does she want to serve? And then she goes and she does those things. And I think, Judy, it’s super inspirational to hear about all the ways that you’re participating in the world and being in the world and, connecting with people and the emails you’re writing and the service that you’re giving, you know, you receive the feedback.
00;56;57;03 – 00;57;20;01
Lauren Brollier Newton
You all right? Tomorrow’s is for you. Like, we know that there’s a great ripple effect when we give. And I just think it’s so inspirational that you’re it sounds to me like, and you can correct me if I’m wrong, that your business is less about, oh, I’m going to do this super specific strategy and more about letting the spirit move you to just go help people right where you are.
00;57;20;03 – 00;57;46;29
Judy Matejczyk
Absolutely. Isn’t that why we’re here? Isn’t that why are our souls in our spirit are here right now in 2025? So many of the people my age are no longer here. I get to be alive today. I’ll tell you what. Give my past. That’s the real miracle. Yeah.
00;57;47;02 – 00;58;10;12
Judy Matejczyk
And so it’s living each day with love in my heart, which is the scroll. And journaling every day. For a long time, I was journaling that passage from your invisible power, which I’m going to go back to. There’s. You know, Mary told us to memorize it, so I did.
00;58;10;14 – 00;58;33;17
Lauren Brollier Newton
Oh, is it, my mind is a center of divine operation. For those of you who are unfamiliar, there’s a book by Genevieve Barron. It’s called Your Invisible Power. And, So good. Judy, that’s the other thing about you, Judy, is you really. I’ve watched you in the years that I’ve known you. Whatever you’re learning in your training, whatever you’re learning in the courses that you’re taking, you’re not just leaving them in the course.
00;58;33;19 – 00;58;34;28
Judy Matejczyk
No, no, you’re the.
00;58;34;28 – 00;58;37;11
Lauren Brollier Newton
Thing that day.
00;58;37;13 – 00;59;11;07
Judy Matejczyk
Well, also in January 2025, I am paradigm shift in transformation. I’m choosing a book in this January is your invisible Power. So I’m going to be bringing on guest speakers that will be teaching one lesson from Invisible Power the whole month. Love that I do that because I’m really selfish. Yeah. I’m funny. You and other people are. Their experience, their strength, their hope.
00;59;11;09 – 00;59;17;08
Judy Matejczyk
I really get off on the interviewing people I know. Kind of like you do too. Oh yeah.
00;59;17;10 – 00;59;34;17
Lauren Brollier Newton
I mean, the great thing about podcasts like this, and I know this is true for the listeners, but it’s certainly true for me. Everybody that I’ve had on this show, mostly everybody, has the same mission that’s to help people. Some of them are life coaches, some of them are sales coaches. Some of them are people I know from my network marketing days.
00;59;34;17 – 00;59;55;22
Lauren Brollier Newton
I mean, I’ve interviewed lots of people, but mostly everybody that I’ve interviewed has been this deep, deep heart and call to help people. The cool thing about it, though, is everybody has a different way of going about it. Everybody has different ways of talking it, teaching and explaining it. So it’s like I get super revved up because, I mean, I haven’t been teaching this as long as you, Judy, but I’ve been teaching this for going on.
00;59;55;25 – 01;00;21;06
Lauren Brollier Newton
Let’s see if I can do math eight years now. And we all in the Institute have a certain way of describing things so it can get a little bit stale because it’s been like, okay, this is how we this is how we teach this. It only gets stale when you’re not learning, because if you’re going out and interviewing people and talking and looking on Facebook and doing these kind of things, then there’s always a new way of describing it, teaching it, learning about it, talking about it.
01;00;21;09 – 01;00;36;21
Lauren Brollier Newton
I ask this of every single person who comes on the show, and I’m going to ask it of you. And the question is, if you were starting a coaching business from the ground up. And when I say the ground up, you can’t take your social media following. I mean, you can’t take your email list. You’re starting from scratch.
01;00;36;25 – 01;00;47;01
Lauren Brollier Newton
You can take your wisdom, but you can’t take any of the assets that you have. Now. What would be the first move you would make if you were building a coaching business from scratch?
01;00;47;03 – 01;01;23;18
Judy Matejczyk
I would say, to go get well for one, get out of your four walls. It’s not about being in the office. Take yourself. Take yourself across the street. Take yourself to the library and meet people. Meet people. Look at them in the eye and say, I see you. Who are you? What would you love? And I’ll tell you what you will get.
01;01;23;18 – 01;02;04;19
Judy Matejczyk
You will be amazed that most people have never been asked that question. And you’re going to find yourself asking yourself that question, what would I. Then look yourself in the mirror. I’m like, who am I being today? And every day? Be at peace with who you are and what things I write. The very last thing in my journal every day I am at peace with who I am and who I am becoming.
01;02;04;21 – 01;02;26;12
Judy Matejczyk
So it’s about being in the moment, being at the screen of becoming. There’s no human coming. So that’s what I would say. And it’s the same thing you’re doing. Whatever it is, there are no mistakes.
01;02;26;15 – 01;02;44;19
Judy Matejczyk
You are not a mistake. And to stay focused, create your personal mission statement a business. One of the things look in the mirror and you are your brand.
01;02;44;21 – 01;02;47;02
Lauren Brollier Newton
Yes, exactly.
01;02;47;04 – 01;03;00;12
Judy Matejczyk
So. And yeah, well, I’ve seen so many coaches over the years give up and that breaks my heart. Trust the process.
01;03;00;15 – 01;03;05;23
Lauren Brollier Newton
Trust the process and be who you’re dreaming of being. Be it today.
01;03;05;26 – 01;03;07;11
Judy Matejczyk
Amen.
01;03;07;13 – 01;03;11;06
Lauren Brollier Newton
I love it. So, Judy, if people want to find you, where can they go to find you?
01;03;11;08 – 01;03;14;28
Judy Matejczyk

01;03;15;01 – 01;03;16;22
Lauren Brollier Newton
Nobody’s going to know how to spell that beauty.
01;03;16;23 – 01;03;24;29
Judy Matejczyk
Yes. Oh, you realize it took me the third grade to learn how to spell that name?
01;03;25;01 – 01;03;33;04
Lauren Brollier Newton
Oh, I bet I’m like. I still don’t know how to spell your last name. I endeavor, and then I ultimately end up looking at your Facebook page. So I spell it correctly.
01;03;33;06 – 01;03;47;11
Judy Matejczyk
That’s the plan. It’s, MATEJCZYK.
01;03;47;13 – 01;03;53;18
Lauren Brollier Newton

I’ll see you in the next episode.
Many coaches start their businesses with the dream of creating impact, freedom, and abundance—but what does it take to build a legacy that lasts?
In this inspiring episode of The Abundant Coach, Lauren is joined by coaching veteran Judy Matejczyk, who has been serving and transforming lives for over a decade. Judy’s journey from special education teacher to sought-after life coach is filled with lessons on courage, commitment, and contribution.
Judy shares how she took a leap of faith by cashing in her teacher retirement to get certified, how she built a thriving business from the ground up, and why staying in alignment with her purpose has kept her going strong all these years.
If you’re a coach or aspiring coach wondering how to build a legacy in your business and impact lives for years to come, this episode is for you.
Judy Matejczyk’s story is proof that a coaching career can start anywhere. As a special education teacher, she was already helping students realize their potential, but she wanted to do more. When she discovered life coaching, she knew she had found her true calling.
Taking a bold leap of faith, she cashed in her teacher retirement to invest in certification—despite her fears. Today, after over a decade in the industry, she continues to inspire and uplift hundreds of clients, proving that when you’re committed to your vision, success follows.
Many aspiring coaches hesitate to invest in themselves, worrying about the financial commitment. But as Judy shares, investing in certification and mentorship was the best decision she ever made.
Lauren and Judy discuss how every coach who has built a lasting business has one thing in common: they believed in themselves enough to take the leap. When you invest in your own growth, you build a solid foundation for a legacy that will continue to impact others for years to come.
Judy’s first coaching workshop took place in a friend’s living room. She doesn’t even remember if she enrolled clients that day—but what mattered was that she got started.
Too many aspiring coaches wait for the “perfect time” to launch their business, but Judy’s story is a reminder that imperfect action is better than no action at all. If you want to build a legacy, the most important step is to start today.
Judy has built her business primarily through organic social media content and personal connections. Rather than relying on aggressive sales tactics, she focuses on sharing authentic, inspiring messages that resonate with her audience.
Lauren and Judy dive into the power of:
If you want to know how to build a legacy as a coach, it starts with showing up consistently, providing value, and truly caring about the people you serve.
A true coaching legacy isn’t just about the clients you serve today—it’s about the ripple effect you create over time. Judy shares powerful stories about how her work has not only transformed her clients’ lives but has also impacted her family, community, and even people she has never met.
From inspiring her grandson to become an entrepreneur at her workshops to having her messages shared in women’s prisons, Judy’s story is a testament to the fact that when you commit to this work, your legacy reaches far beyond what you can see.
