In 2014, Felicia Searcy had a “good life”.
She earned around $50,000 a year, and had been doing so for decades. Her husband also had a steady income, and Felicia often told herself that she had no right to complain.
But the truth was, she wanted more than “good.” Deep down, she knew she could be living a GREAT life – a life she truly loved.
What Felicia really wanted was to leave her job, build something of her own, achieve financial independence and make a bigger impact on the world.
So when she came across Brave Thinking Institute, she was 100% ready to take the first step of building a new, dream life. With her husband’s financial support, Felicia embarked on a journey to fulfill her dream of becoming a speaker, coach and trainer, by signing up for the Life Mastery Consultant Certification program.
Her excitement was short-lived however. Only a few months later, her husband was raced to the emergency room.
“I was standing in Vanderbilt University Hospital with a doctor telling me that if my husband doesn’t stay in the hospital, he’s going to die, and the admission person is telling me, ‘Mrs. Searcy, your insurance doesn’t cover your husband for this illness for him to stay in the hospital…’ My whole financial security got knocked out from underneath me within a matter of moments,” she says.
Felicia went home that night with one question spinning over and over in her mind: How was she going to keep her husband alive?
As she lay awake, mind-churning, too stressed to sleep, she considered giving up on her dream to become a coach. She had thoughts that she could quickly and easily get a job, one where she could earn a steady income and purchase health insurance for her husband.
“The problem was when I really began to think about that, literally it was as if the life went out in me. So I’m sitting here with this dilemma… I go back to teaching and save my husband’s life and part of me dies, or I go forward with my dream at the risk of my husband dying.”
Late that night, Felicia made a decision. She fell asleep knowing that she had to find a way to continue going after her dream… she had to become a successful coach, so she could save her husband.
Over the next few months, the team at Brave Thinking Institute helped Felicia stare down her fear and strengthen her belief in her vision so that she could follow her dream in the face of near-paralyzing circumstances.
Her husband remained critically ill for the next three years. But whenever Felicia felt stuck, or thought about giving up, she had a structure of support in the Life Mastery Consultant program to keep her moving toward her dream.
Fast forward to today…
Felicia’s husband made a full recovery, and they now live together in their dream home in Southern California. Because she stayed focused on her dream, Felicia is now a highly successful Life Mastery Consultant, which earned her more than $620,000 in revenue in 2019.
“One of the most amazing gifts out of this: My husband retired seven years early… he’s alive and he loves his life! We are continuing to build this rich, loving relationship. If I had backed up and not made this decision, my husband would not be here.”
