My all-time favorite fun-fitness method is mindful-movement, or in other words, “conscious dance”.
What does that mean you might ask?
In simple terms, it means to put on your favorite piece of music, close the doors and the blinds, allow your body to be your guide, and dance like no-one is watching!
There’s nothing, in my mind, that’s more fun and freeing, and life giving than even 5-minutes of dancing!
I do this with my kids, my hubby, my clients and alone.
Whether it’s just 5-minutes or my full blown 60-minute TranscenDance practice that I’ve been doing and teaching for over 15 years, my mind, body and soul are lifted and rejuvenated in AMAZING joyful ways!
As a trained professional dancer, I have taken every movement class known to man (pretty much).
And my favorite style or technique is modern dance.
But conscious dance is different than choreographed movement, in that I never dance the same dance twice.
With most dance classes you have to copy a set of steps and there is a right way and wrong way to do it.
But in conscious dance, there is no wrong way, and it’s only your way.
I use the dance floor as my medicine to release anything negative going on in my mind, heart, or body, and refill and re-fuel with positive energy, love, and vitality from the Divine.
And when I allow my body and soul to be my guide my body knows how to heal itself and bring me to a more balanced harmonious, joyful state.
