OK, so let’s dive right in here!
What is this “natural fountain of youth?”
It’s called nitric oxide!
You might be asking, “What is it, why is it important, and why should I care?”
Nitric oxide is a powerful molecule that resets your power grid and reboots your body the same way you reboot your computer in order to make it work better. Nitric oxide is like a refresh button for our body and soul!
Nitric oxide is also crucial to maintaining optimal health because it causes muscles in the walls of your blood vessels to relax, preventing cellular inflammation. It also fights infection, and it kills tumors.
The more nitric oxide your body makes, the healthier and happier you are on many levels.
It is a secret KEY to developing and optimizing wellness, and it’s your secret weapon for youthfulness. And there is a critical link between nitric oxide and pleasure.
You see, when you engage in thinking, eating, moving, playing, having fun, resting and sensual activities in healthy and positive ways, you are boosting your pleasure and BOOSTING your nitric oxide. You literally turn back the clock! And your body cannot “store up” nitric oxide, which means you need pleasure and fun every single day.
The reality is that pleasure is actually CRITICAL to our health and well-being.
Without pleasure, we are unable to truly achieve optimal health. Pleasure can be defined as anything that brings you joy and happiness.
In order to allow more pleasure into our lives and truly become vibrant healthy beings, we have to shift our thinking from,
“I don’t have the time to take care of me,”
to
“I DO have time for even small pleasurable activities today. I make fun a priority for myself today. I fully enjoy this precious life I have been given.”
Denying yourself pleasure is just as damaging as denying yourself air.
When we are restricting pleasure, our body makes stress hormones that restrict our blood flow, and then our nitric oxide levels plummet. When this happens, our levels of the neurotransmitter beta-endorphin also plummet.
When these levels are low, we can feel sad, irritated and depressed. We then reach for something to make us feel better quickly: junk food, coffee, alcohol, drugs.
We are actually numbing ourselves so we don’t have to feel these feelings we don’t like.
We then keep needing more and more of these things to feel better.
If we don’t replace these vices, we will continue to seek pleasure this way instead of developing healthy ways to experience pleasure.
So how do we invite more pleasure into our lives daily?
Dr. Christiane Northrup, MD talks about this in her book, “The Secret Pleasures of Menopause.”
She says that we can do this by engaging in healthy, nitric oxide-inducing activities on a regular basis.
You have to believe you DESERVE pleasure! Feeling pleasure is your birthright – simply because you are breathing, you deserve it!
Some examples include; dancing, bath-time, tea-time, reading your favorite book, any hobby you love and YES – either sensual play, and/or orgasm!
Here is how to increase your nitric oxide levels by increasing our pleasure
- First, give yourself permission for pleasure.
We have shut this down because we feel we have so much to do and believe that there is no time. - Second, get to know your pleasure profile.
Explore this idea of a pleasure profile – what gives you pleasure? What do you love? Ask yourself, what would make a great day for you? - Third, be a source of pleasure for others.
Be a source of healing and vibrancy for our planet. When others see you being comfortable in your own skin, making healthy choices, and living your true passion, you will inspire them to do the same and to live their passion filled life. The more pleasure you give to yourself and you spread to others, the more joyous and healthy the world around you becomes.
Here are 6 ways to achieve maximum levels of health-inducing nitric oxide
- Associating yourself with positive people everywhere you can.
- Being a positive person for others.
- Eating healthy and exercise.
- Moving forward, not backward!
- Realizing that you are what you believe!
- Aim for sharing true intimacy with another vs simply having intercourse, and know that sex goes hand-in-hand with health.
You can begin to increase the pleasure in your life right now by simply asking yourself,
“What would I love right now that would nurture me and bring me joy?”
Then give yourself permission to do it! Pleasure begins with you, and you are worth it!
As Dr. Chrstiane Northrup says,
“When you commit to discovering, nurturing, and then living your true passion, it’s as if you’re stoking a fire in your soul. And you are – a fire fed by nitric oxide!”

I am considering the exercise I learned about from the Ted talk. Accepting that would be a
pleasure. Thank you Jennifer for helping me to open up and rise higher than ever before.

Hi Jen,I would love to go for a ride on my scooter and observe nature and take pictures. And go to the pond and feed the ducks. That sounds like a perfect day to me.

I would be in joyful bliss if I was on a beautiful secluded beach lying in a hammock hearing only the sounds of the ocean and the waterfall that is in the alcove behind me. Ah, I can feel the ocean breeze as I lie quietly in a state of total and utter relaxation.

Accepting with an understanding an intimacy relationship without conditional love is true love, joy and peace and allowing self to shine like a star and experience a intimate love from others in return. And to see and experience peace, love and joy and happiness in others is an ultimate experience.
