Love In Motion
Spotlighting Facilitator: Cody Wasial
“It’s priceless to learn and love your body” — Cody Wasial
This month we are introducing Level II Facilitator Cody Wasial. She’s from upstate New York , but you will rarely find her in one place for long as she loves to travel! As a motivated entrepreneur, Cody spends her time as an Inspirational Speaker, TranscenDance™ Facilitator, Joy Adventure Retreat host and Founder of The Wee Plant Joy Project.
But before she was coined as America’s Joy Catalyst, Cody was the owner of a doggy daycare and pet boarding facility. For over 15 years, she supported the animal community and its humans, building her business up to $500k+ a year, with over 4,000 clients and 150 employees. Cody was at the top of her game and well-recognized in the community, engaged to the love of her life and living her dream.
But over that time, Cody was simultaneously putting others first, pushing hard to make things work, smiling on the outside and feeling exhausted on the inside. She was in such a constant state of stress that her cortisol levels went through the roof, weight gain was at its maximum and everything seemed like an uphill battle.
“This can’t be what life is supposed to be,” she thought, while doing everything she could to make things work. “The truth was I had completed this dream, my fiancé and I had grown apart, and it was time to let it all go. It was time to step into a dream life that would have healthier habits, boundaries and self-care and ultimately more joy again. I knew this in my mind, but I had no idea how to do this.”
Thankfully, the Universe had a plan. “After my fiancé and I parted ways I felt this new energy, this ‘lets make everything new and different than’ energy.” Newly single, Cody was sitting in a park when she saw a lone duck swimming by, after the other ducks had swam further. The duck went underwater, its little feet rising towards the sky as he dove for something amazing. “ Who knew an upside down duck would be the catalyst to have me finally come to terms with selling my business?”
After seeing the duck as a sign and hearing herself saying “I have to sell my business” out loud, Cody sold her business within only 6 months — something she thought would have taken a few years. That felt amazing — and she had no idea what was next.
It was then she got a call to go to a DreamBuilder Live event in California with Mary Morrissey. It didn’t take much for her to say “YES” — after all, it was the winter in upstate New York, and some California sun was just what the doctor ordered! No longer stuck in her own creation and beginning to create something new, she was introduced to Mary’s Brave Thinking tools, and Cody signed up to be trained as a certified life coach.
“It was all coming together: my purpose, what I was supposed to do next. I was happier, healthier, I was learning to go with the flow, deepen my trust in the process, and surrender to the things I couldn’t control and take aligned action with the things I was called to.”
And still Cody shares there was something missing. “I understood my mind and how to help it shift out of old thinking. I knew my spirit and what brought it joy, I had been putting myself first and taking care of myself really well and though I was the happiest I had ever been. I was down 20 pounds, and yet I still had this voice telling me: ‘Sure, you lost some weight but you still need to lose more to find a husband.’”
Thankfully the Universe again steps in with a master plan. Now going stir-crazy in her home with the world being closed down during the COVID pandemic, Cody saw a post about a TranscenDance™ class led and created by Jennifer Joy Jimenéz. “ I signed up right away. I had no idea what it was, but it said I would move my body and I knew I needed that.” Cody’s experience in her first TranscenDance™ led her to tears. “ I felt like the most beautiful woman in the whole world! I was connecting with my body in ways I had never before.”
Without hesitation, Cody knew this was the missing piece to how she could help her clients, and also continue to deepen her own self-love.
“I remember going out into the woods to TranscenDance™ and hearing a voice (yes I was alone) tell me to get naked,” Cody recalled. “After much delay and negotiating with the higher self, I did — I was naked in the woods (EEK) and I took a photo (scandalous, I know). But when I looked at the photo I saw my beauty, I said, ‘Wow, I am beautiful!’ And the voice I heard back finally said, ‘Yes, you are.’” Something shifted in Cody that day: Her self-love was no longer conditional — it was unconditional.
She was so in love with this practice and what it had helped her to re-discover that she signed up to become a TrancenDance™ Level II Facilitator in Costa Rica, and she also joined Jennifer’s Level II Mastermind group. “ I waited 3 years to be able to hug and dance with my tribe, and Jennifer. It was one of the best feelings to dance together, be seen, heard and share space with so many like-minded and embodied people.
“The excursions that Jennifer brought us on so in Costa Rica beautifully evoked each stage of TranscenDance™, and stretched us in ways that made us more able to bring this practice and principles into real life.” Cody mentions that the Labyrinth experience in particular was a deeply spiritual immersion that really brought her even more clarity and connection to her path. “What’s better than music, dance, play, joy and community? Only the love both within and without that you experience in its wake”.
“Being in person with Jennifer was a blessing,” Cody says. ““The way she curates a safe and loving space and the care she provides for your body and soul in the process of unveiling all your layers is priceless.”
Cody now dances her way through life with an unshakable self-love, sharing her story and TranscenDance™ at her own Joy Adventure Retreats, and as a guest at others’ retreats, expos, conferences and workshops, while hosting pop up classes and randomly busting into dance in grocery stores. Her most exciting dance is coming this April, where she will dance with Elephants in South Africa at Knysna Elephant Park. It will be a part of her mission with The Wee Plant Joy Project to raise money to help reunite their two elephant herds after an 8-year-long drought.
She says: “You can do, create and be anything you desire when you follow your heart’s nudges, trust the process and move toward what brings you JOY”.

Be Mine
5 simple ways to be your own Valentine
By Jennifer Joy Jiménez
So many of us have been taught to believe that we need to rely on someone else to feel cherished, honored, or loved – especially on Valentine’s Day.
I have so many clients who tell me how they just dread Valentine’s Day because they don’t end up feeling the way they would love to feel. They don’t receive gifts, beautiful flowers or cards. And if they’re single, they especially dread Valentine’s Day because it’s “in their face” that they don’t have a romantic partner.
But what if Valentine’s Day could have a whole new meaning, and you could actually look forward to this day, no matter your relationship status?
I want to get right to the heart of this question and help you re-envision Valentine’s Day. These tools are great to use all year round.
Together, let’s explore 5 powerful, FUN ways to cultivate self-love and be your own Valentine, so you can magnetize more love in your life and feel loved all year long!
Be Your Own Valentine by Understanding Your Love Language
Let’s start off by unpacking the 5 love languages. This isn’t so much about learning how to express love to others or for others to express love to you, but instead how these love languages can help nurture unconditional self-love for you!”
The 5 Love Languages” is a best-selling series written by Gary Chapman, Ph.D. The book has sold over 20 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 50 different languages. It’s definitely struck a chord around the world.
Essentially, your primary love language is how you feel and receive the most love. It’s important to note that just because you have a primary love language doesn’t mean you don’t respond to any of the other ones. It just means you have a preference!
You can take the “5 Love Languages Quiz” or review them here to discover which one resonates with you most:
1. Words of Affirmation:
You feel the most love when you receive genuine compliments, praise, encouragement, and other verbal expressions of affection, appreciation, and acknowledgment. An affirmation letter or detailed love letter to yourself is one loving experience you can give yourself!
2. Acts of Service:
You experience love best when someone goes out of their way to do something for you like chores, errands, or other ways to lend a helping hand. This is especially true when they do something you particularly don’t enjoy doing yourself and ease the burden of responsibility. Do something nice for yourself or hire help, to have your car washed or house cleaned by someone else.
3. Receiving Gifts:
You respond best when you receive gifts because they represent a physical symbol of thoughtfulness, effort, and love. It’s about treasuring meaningful gifts and the investment of time and energy. Give yourself permission to buy or give yourself a gift you treasure and have wanted, from new underwear to a new yoga mat or your favorite drink at the coffee shop.
4. Quality Time
Focused, undivided attention makes you feel the highest form of love. This means turning off any distractions and being present in the moment in whatever you’re doing. A celebration of love could be something as simple as the gift of sleep or the gift of space. Be sure to schedule a dancing date with yourself or a date doing what you most love to do. Take yourself to the movies, or dinner out.
5. Physical Touch
In this case, love is best expressed through physical touch. This includes all forms of physical touch, from a subtle touch of the arm and holding hands to cuddling and sensual pleasure. A great expression of self-love with physical touch could boost your body image and encourage a healthy life.
As we explore each one in detail, I encourage you to pick and choose from all the love languages in whatever way feels best for you. At the end of the day, expressing self-love isn’t just meant for a single day out of the year.
Make a habit out of celebrating yourself on a regular basis and upping the ante on self-love.
I Heart YOU:
3 Ways Dancing is Heart Healthy
As we navigate through Heart Health Awareness Month, there’s a rhythm to wellness that goes beyond the treadmill and into the dance studio. A groundbreaking Australian study, pooling data from 48,000 individuals, uncovered a compelling link between moderate-intensity dancing and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease-related mortality. Dancers exhibited a remarkable 46% lower risk of cardiovascular death compared to those who rarely or never danced.
How does conscious dancing contribute to heart health? Here are three compelling ways:
- Cardiovascular Conditioning: The flowing movements and varied tempos of conscious dance provide a holistic cardiovascular workout. From gentle swaying to lively beats, each session elevates the heart rate, enhancing blood circulation, and strengthening the heart muscle.
- Stress Reduction: Dance transcends mere physical exercise: it’s a dynamic stress-buster. Engaging in conscious movement releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood lifters, reducing stress levels and, consequently, promoting heart health. A lighter heart on the dance floor often leads to a healthier heart overall.
- Community Support: The heart thrives in a community that beats in unison. TranscenDance™ classes offer more than just dance; they provide a supportive environment where individuals embark on their heart health journey together. The shared energy, encouragement, and camaraderie make every step towards a healthier heart a collective celebration.
This Heart Health Awareness Month, consider the dance floor as your sanctuary for cardiovascular vitality. To sign up for the Annual Class Pass and experience the transformative power of conscious movement, and let the heartbeat of community support guide you towards a heart-healthy rhythm just go to https://bti.com/dance and select the next class that’s offered.
