Welcome to the November 2023 TranscenDance™ Tribune!
This month’s intention and focus are on gratitude and growth, two invaluable tools that, when wielded together, have the potential to orchestrate a symphony of transformation in our lives. Gratitude, often likened to the sun that warms the seeds of our potential, is the vital nourishment our spirits need to thrive. It teaches us to appreciate the present moment, savor our achievements, and recognize the beauty that surrounds us even in the face of adversity. Growth, on the other hand, is the unwavering belief in our ability to evolve, learn, and adapt. It beckons us to step outside of our comfort zones, embrace new challenges, and continuously refine the masterpiece that is our existence.
When we marry gratitude with growth, something extraordinary transpires. Gratitude becomes the foundation upon which our aspirations take root, and growth provides the wings that carry us toward our dreams. Together, they are the catalysts for personal evolution and profound metamorphosis. Dance with us in this exploration of how these twin forces, gratitude and growth, can collaborate to inspire, elevate, and breathe new life into the canvas of our existence. It is a journey that holds the promise of turning ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences, and a reminder that, in the embrace of these companions, our lives can be truly transformed.
The TranscenDance™ Tribune is dedicated to nurturing our conscious dance community and celebrating the healing power of the mind-body-spirit connection. Members of the Brave Thinking Institute Health & Wellbeing Division receive this newsletter on the first Friday of every month, and past issues are also accessible online at https://bti.com/tribune.
Facilitator Spotlight
Lydia Rieger: “Dance, an Open Door”
Making Waves and Taking Names in the World of Transformation.
This month our spotlight is on an amazing woman and TranscenDance™ Facilitator Lydia Rieger, the owner of Tanglewood Tutoring and Transformation. As a transformational life coach, Lydia specializes in helping entrepreneurial families educate their children and reach their income goals so that they can fully thrive being difference makers and amazing parents. She accomplishes her mission through consultations, tutoring, coaching programs and classes such as TranscenDance™.
At an event five years ago, someone asked Lydia about her dream or goal for her health. She had a desire to learn a form of dance, but she didn’t have a specific style in mind at the time, so she left the door open for ideas. A couple of years later, the opportunity to learn about TranscenDance™ and to become a TranscenDance™ Facilitator presented itself, and Lydia had a realization: “This is it! This is the dance I am meant to do!”
Lydia already had some exposure to TranscenDance™ through Jennifer Jiménez’s classes and coaching programs. When Jennifer introduced the TranscenDance™ Facilitator Training to Lydia, she explained the manifold benefits it offered. Becoming a TranscenDance™ Facilitator wasn’t just a means of personal transformation, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional aspects. It also allowed Lydia to help others manifest their dreams faster, by incorporating TranscenDance™ into her coaching programs.
During her TranscenDance™ training, discussions revolved around the various ways to share this conscious dance form with the world. Lydia immediately knew that she wanted to introduce it to senior citizens and to children. So far, she has guided around 40 senior citizens through this magical form of movement. Many of those clients speak of feeling more relaxed, flexible and uplifted after her classes. One of those clients, Lisa Kenny, told Lydia: “After I got through my initial awkwardness, TranscenDance™ gave me a sense of freedom and flow.”
Lydia’s passion for children and her background in education led her to create “Family TranscenDance™,” available both online and in-person in her local community, which quickly gained popularity. Parents relish the opportunity to embrace their inner child, while children revel in their newfound freedom for self-expression. When Lydia asks the children about their favorite part of TranscenDance™, their answers range from, “When we danced crazy!” to “The rest time,” and for some, it is simply “Everything!” After Jen Wilson experienced a class with her ten year old son Jack, she told Lydia: “It was a really special experience with the elements all aligning for Jack and me that afternoon. Your program is a great exercise in self/co-regulation, which has become a top priority in our family.”
Lydia herself even said that after introducing her husband Alan and 16 year old son Lyam to TranscenDance™ that it has helped deepen their mutual respect, strengthened their bond even further, and brought even more fun into their relationships. Lydia says, “We release a lot of stress and have a great deal of fun dancing together. I am also grateful for the moral support I receive from both my husband and son as I continue pursuing my TranscenDance™ career and personal practice.”
Through her private and community TranscenDance™ classes, Lydia’s clients experience better physical health, increased self-development, and stronger family bonds. Beyond helping others, TranscenDance™ has become a profound tool for Lydia’s own spiritual growth, helping her combat doubt and take substantial steps toward her personal goals. She often says, “TranscenDance™ opens doors,” because just describing TranscenDance™ to someone can light up their eyes and soul. Lydia eagerly anticipates many more doors opening in the future as she continues to spread TranscenDance™ in her community.
RE- MIND ME
3 Top Ways Conscious Dance is Combating Alzheimer’s
This month we are RE-Minded that conscious dance has even more proven benefits than we sometimes think about. Conscious dance is showing that it plays a role in combating Alzheimer’s and dementia by stimulating cognitive functions, enhancing emotional well-being, and fostering a sense of community.
- Cognitive Enhancement:
- Memory Improvement: Many studies have found that dance interventions, such as conscious dance, can improve memory and cognitive function in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. The rhythmic movements and patterns in dance appear to stimulate memory recall and cognitive processing.
- Emotional Well-Being:
- Stress Reduction: Researchers have demonstrated that conscious dance significantly reduces stress levels in dementia patients. The relaxation induced by the practice helps stabilize mood and reduce anxiety, contributing to overall emotional well-being.
- Social Interaction and Community Building:
- Social Benefits: It has been shown that group activities like conscious dance contribute to social interaction and a sense of belonging for individuals living with dementia. Regular participation in dance sessions can enhance social connections and mitigate feelings of isolation.
“A 2003 study in the New England Journal of Medicine by researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine discovered that dance can decidedly improve brain health. The study investigated the effect leisure activities had on the risk of dementia in the elderly. The researchers looked at the effects of 11 different types of physical activity, including cycling, golf, swimming, and tennis, but found that only one of the activities studied—dance—lowered participants’ risk of dementia. According to the researchers, dancing involves both a mental effort and social interaction and that this type of stimulation helped reduce the risk of dementia.”

Healthy Holidays!
Soothe Holiday Stressors with Ten TranscenDance™ Power Moves
Incorporating the Ten Phases of TranscenDance™ into Your Daily Life for Holiday Stress Reduction:
The holiday season can often feel like a whirlwind of activity, leaving us stressed and overwhelmed. Amid the holiday hustle and bustle, it’s essential to find moments of tranquility and self-care. TranscenDance™, a transformative movement modality, offers ten phases that you can seamlessly integrate into your daily life to reduce stress, stay centered, and find joy in each moment. Let’s explore how you can apply these phases in practical ways:
- Stage One – SOURCE – Pre-Dance:
Set your intentions for the day, just as you would before a TranscenDance™ session. Think about how you want to feel and what you wish to achieve. For example, “Today, I intend to remain calm and present during family gatherings.”
- Stage Two – SPIRIT – Guided Breathwork/Imagery:
Take a few moments each morning to practice deep breathing and connect with your inner self. Visualize yourself handling holiday stress with grace, maintaining inner peace throughout the day.
- Feeling tired and wanting a reboot?
- Practice Stage 3 – Dance of Stretch – to focus on breathing, earthing, releasing tension and stress, and opening your body with flexibility. You’ll feel FLEXIBLE AND OPEN.
- Feeling tense and wanting to feel rejuvenated, lighter, and more flexible?
- Practice Stage 4 – Dance of Self – to bring energy and fluid breath into every body part. You’ll feel FLEXIBLE AND FREE.
- Feeling stressed, angry, irritated, triggered, and wanting to shake off “a funky mood” or release a grudge?
- Practice Stage 5 – Dance of Shift – to release negative energy and “dance in” positive energy and emotions. You’ll feel RENEWED AND POSITIVE.
- Wanting to resource inspired ideas and embody your vision/goals/dream?
- Practice Stage 6 – Dance of Surrender – to allow Spirit to move and dance you from the inside out and to become a vibrational match with the energy you want to magnetize and the results you want to manifest. You’ll feel JOY, BLISS, AND CONNECTION TO SPIRIT.
- Wanting to forgive?
- Practice Stage 7 – Dance of Synergy – embody unconditional loving kindness and imagine inner peace and world peace. You’ll feel LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE.
- Wanting to shift from feeling lonely and disconnected to feeling connected and filled with love?
- Practice Stage 8 – Dance of Serve – connect to refill your own cup, serving yourself, others, and your community, through serving your higher calling. You’ll feel PEACE AND LOVE.
- Wanting deep healing on a mental, emotional, and spiritual level?
- Practice Stage 9 – Dance of Soothe – for deep universal energy healing. You’ll feel HEALED AND REJUVENATED.
- Wanting to quiet your active, stressed or worried mind and relax and renew?
- Practice Stage 10 – Come into inner peace, full resonance, clarity of mind, and remember the point of power within, in stillness. You’ll feel INTEGRATED AND RE-CENTERED, ready to embrace the peace and balance the holiday season offers.

Counting the Ways
November Numerology
November bears a unique significance as it resonates with the number 11 in numerology, a Master Number associated with divinity and spiritual awakening. It symbolizes the alignment with our true selves and underscores our interconnectedness. The double 1 in 11 signifies unity, reminding us that we are not just individuals but part of a greater whole. We are One, intertwined on this collective journey as expressions of the Universe.
The number 11 serves as a portal to higher realms, facilitating our connection with the divine. Throughout November, we have the opportunity to access these elevated vibrations through practices like meditation, communing with nature, journaling, and embracing gratitude. Within this month, certain dates hold particular significance, such as November 1, represented by the powerful angelic number 111, signifying the presence of guardian angels and spirit guides offering their protective support.
A few ways you can mark this special time Is through engaging in meaningful rituals that align with the energy of November and the profound symbolism of the number 11:
- Meditation and Reflection: Dedicate time each day to meditate and reflect on your true self and spiritual connection. The stillness and presence cultivated in meditation allow you to tap into the higher vibrations of the number 11.
- Nature Walks: Spend time in nature, whether it’s a walk in the woods, a visit to the beach, or simply sitting in a park. Nature provides a direct link to the divine and can help you access the higher realms.
