Pure Joy
Spotlighting Facilitator Martha Gallagher
We are delighted to share the story of our TranscenDance™ sister Martha Gallagher.
Martha Gallagher’s story is a beautiful testament to how life’s unexpected moments can lead to powerful transformations. In 2019, while feeling a nudge from the Universe to shift her life in a new direction. In a most serendipitous way Martha came across a random email about Mary Morrissey’s DreamBuilder Live. It came at the perfect time, a moment when she felt ready to embrace change. She attended DreamBuilder Live and “absolutely loved it”. She eagerly pursued further opportunities for growth within the Brave Thinking Institute. Little did she know, this path would lead her to TranscenDance™, a practice that would profoundly shape her life.
Around the same time, Martha received a breast cancer diagnosis, a devastating and life-altering shock. As she began to explore TranscenDance™, she found solace in the movement, which supported her mentally and physically. Despite her upcoming surgery, she felt called to join the facilitator training. She reached out to Jennifer Joy Jiménez, expressing concerns about her ability to participate post-surgery. Jennifer’s encouraging words—that this experience would become part of her story—gave her the strength to move forward. Martha participated in the training, dancing her way through recovery. Instead of “lying in bed, eating chocolates, and feeling sorry for myself”, she felt energized and empowered by the movement, attributing much of her healing journey to her immersion in TranscenDance™.
After completing her facilitator certification, Martha jumped into action. She began teaching classes twice a week, fostering a community of women who bonded through shared movement and self-expression. This led her to create “Moving Spirit,” a women’s gathering that incorporates TranscenDance™, music, and meditation. Certified in 2021, she initially taught virtually but later facilitated both in-person and online sessions, sharing her passion for dance and healing with a wider audience. For over 45 years, Martha had toured as a professional musician, but through TranscenDance™, she discovered new avenues for using her gifts to inspire others.
Martha enrolled in the Vibrant Healthy Woman program and enjoyed a space “where women could gather and experience dance, and share personal challenges and joy”. One of the most magical experiences for Martha was attending the Journey to Vitality Transformational Retreat, where she felt deeply connected to her authentic power. Floating down a peaceful river, she embraced a moment of solitude, surrounded by birds and nature, and felt a spiritual connection that resonated with her soul. At the retreat it was the first time she had experienced an in-person TranscenDance™ class with Jennifer. Martha had the opportunity to play her small harp at the end of one of the TranscenDance ™ sessions. Blending her love of music and movement in a way that felt both healing and empowering. Since then, Martha has incorporated music into her classes, creating unique experiences for her students.
TranscenDance™ also helped her heal from an old emotional wound. As a child, she loved to dance and was taking ballet classes. She was so excited for the recital and to wear a pink tutu. In an attempt to protect her, her father said “you’re not really built like a ballerina”. This really hurt her and she carried this with her for many years. In TranscenDance™, she found the courage to embrace movement without judgment. It didn’t matter what she looked like—what mattered was the joy and freedom she felt. This realization gave her the strength to create new workshops and retreats, blending music, dance, and poetry to help others reconnect with their authentic selves.
“Embodying the movement and experiencing how it freed so much of my inner being gave me the courage and inspiration to create the work I’m doing today,” Martha said. “Dance is often part of the variety of offerings I share, including my virtual mini-retreats, workshops, guided meditations, creative explorations, worship services and in-person retreats.”
Martha has built a community of trust, love, and deep connection. Whether virtually or in person, her work fosters an environment where women feel safe to explore their inner selves through movement. She continues to bring TranscenDance™ to various groups, and she’s also created “Journey of Joy,” a program that gently guides people back to joy in their everyday lives. For Martha, creating these programs has been pure joy. She says, “That’s me in a nutshell, Pure Joy!”
Martha’s story is one of resilience, creativity, and transformation. Through TranscenDance™, she discovered her own authentic power and has since dedicated her life to helping others do the same. Her journey is a reminder that healing, joy, and empowerment can be found in the most unexpected places—if we’re open to receiving them.

Sprinkle Kindness Everywhere
Celebrating World Kindness Day with Simple Acts of Compassion and Connection
World Kindness Day, celebrated annually on November 13, is a global event that promotes kindness as a universal human value. This day serves as a reminder of the power of small acts of kindness to bridge divides, foster empathy, and create a sense of community. World Kindness Day encourages us to pause and focus on how we can spread goodwill in our everyday lives.
Kindness is more than just a nice gesture—it has profound effects on both the giver and the receiver. Studies show that acts of kindness boost happiness, reduce stress, and even improve physical health. Kindness has the potential to ripple through communities, creating a positive atmosphere that fosters connection and trust. Whether it’s a smile to a stranger or lending a helping hand, every act of kindness contributes to making the world a better place.
There are countless ways to celebrate World Kindness Day, from small personal gestures to community-wide initiatives. Here are some ideas to inspire you:
- Perform Random Acts of Kindness
Take the opportunity to be a person of increase by brightening someone’s day with a small, unexpected gesture—buy coffee for a stranger, leave a kind note, or offer a compliment. - Volunteer Your Time
Support a local charity, shelter, or a cause that is meaningful to you. Giving your time and energy to others is one of the most powerful ways to spread kindness. - Reach Out to Loved Ones
Send a thoughtful message or make a call to friends or family members you haven’t spoken to in a while. A simple “thinking of you” can go a long way in strengthening relationships. - Support a Cause
Donate to a charity, fundraise for a nonprofit, or raise awareness about an issue you care about. Giving back to the community aligns with the spirit of World Kindness Day. - Practice Self-Kindness
Remember that kindness starts within. Take a moment for self-care, whether it’s through meditation, blissful movement, or treating yourself to something that brings you joy.
World Kindness Day reminds us that kindness is a powerful force that connects us all. By embracing compassion and thoughtfulness, we can make the world a more caring, harmonious place—one act of kindness at a time.
Unleash the Real You
5 Transformative Ways to Embody Your Authentic Power Through TranscenDance™
In a world that constantly pushes us toward external validation, staying grounded in your authentic power can be both challenging and transformative. Authentic power is the energy that arises when you are aligned with your deepest values, your true self, and your purpose. It’s about moving through life from a place of inner strength, rather than seeking control or approval from others. Here are five ways to embody your authentic power as a key tool for transformation.
- Connect with Your Inner Truth
Authentic power starts with self-awareness and connecting deeply with your inner truth. This requires looking beyond the noise of societal expectations, self-doubt, and fear to discover your true desires, values, and beliefs. Cultivating a practice of self-reflection through journaling, meditation, or mindfulness allows you to tune into what truly matters to you.
TranscenDance™ uses music, dance, and mindfulness to help participants connect with their bodies, emotions, and intuition. Through freeform movement, you’re able to release the mental chatter and drop into a space where you can access your inner truth. This embodied experience brings you back to your authentic self, free from external influences.
- Embrace Vulnerability
True power comes from the courage to be vulnerable. When you’re willing to show up authentically, you allow others to see the real you. Vulnerability is not a weakness; it’s the key to building meaningful relationships and living from a place of truth and integrity. Brene Brown calls this “daring greatly,” and it’s essential to living in your authentic power.
TranscenDance™ creates a safe, non-judgmental space where you can let go of perfectionism and embrace your vulnerability. The practice encourages you to express your emotions through movement, helping you release shame, fear, and insecurity. As you become more comfortable expressing your raw emotions on the dance floor, you build the confidence to do the same in your everyday life.
- Cultivate Boundaries with Compassion
Being in your authentic power means setting healthy boundaries that honor your values and well-being. Many people struggle with saying “no” because they fear rejection or conflict, but learning to say no with compassion is a vital skill. Boundaries are about self-respect; they allow you to create space for your energy, time, and mental health while fostering mutual respect with others.
Through the physicality of dance, TranscenDance™ helps you embody the concept of boundaries. The practice teaches you to listen to your body’s cues—when to rest, when to push, and when to create space. As you tune into your body’s needs, you learn to honor your energy levels and set boundaries that support your well-being, both on and off the dance floor.
- Live in Alignment with Your Purpose
When you live in alignment with your purpose, you’re stepping into your authentic power. Purpose isn’t necessarily about a career or specific goal; it’s about how you live each day and what impact you wish to create in the world. When your thoughts, actions, and choices reflect your higher purpose, you’re living authentically and powerfully.TranscenDance™ promotes mindfulness in movement, which encourages you to bring awareness to how you live and move through life. By tapping into your body’s wisdom, you can clarify your inner desires and passions. The practice creates a space for deep reflection and personal insights, helping you align with your purpose and take empowered actions in your life.
- Release Control and Surrender to Flow
Authentic power is not about controlling outcomes or people. Instead, it’s about trusting yourself and the Universe enough to surrender to the flow of life. Releasing control allows you to stay present, adaptable, and open to possibilities that may be beyond what you initially envisioned. When you embrace the flow, you unlock your natural creative potential and live more freely.
One of the core principles of TranscenDance™ is allowing your body to move intuitively. This helps you let go of the need to control or dictate how things should unfold. As you surrender to the rhythm and flow of the music, you practice letting go of mental resistance and become more comfortable with surrendering to Spirit. This skill naturally transfers into your daily life, helping you live with greater ease and trust in the flow of life.
Embodying your authentic power requires a holistic approach that integrates your mind, body, and spirit. By connecting to your inner truth, embracing vulnerability, setting healthy boundaries, living with purpose, and surrendering to flow, you can reclaim your authentic power and lead a life that feels deeply aligned and empowered.
TranscenDance™ uniquely combines mindfulness, dance, and emotional healing, offering a powerful pathway to embody your authentic self through movement. As you continue to cultivate these practices, you’ll find that your power grows stronger, not through force or control, but through alignment with who you truly are.
