Here’s How to Let Go of Common Success Myths in Order to Create More Fulfilling, Sustainable Success
For 35+ years I’ve been helping individuals work in harmony with the universal laws that govern how all results are created so that they can bring forth the real and lasting results that they desire in their life.
A common thread I’ve noticed throughout my work is that “success” means different things to different people.
To some, it can mean greater financial abundance or a more rewarding business or career, while to others it can mean a loving relationship, or more health, energy, and vitality.
Whatever success means to you personally, it may surprise you to know that the only thing standing between you and the results you would truly love is your mindset.
And this is good news!
Because it means that you have the power to shift your mindset and create the success you desire.
Success doesn’t just magically occur for select, charmed individuals, and it doesn’t just look one certain way, no matter what the media may say.
Everyone has the ability to succeed if they adopt the right mindset and let go of limiting beliefs about success that create blocks between themselves and the results they want.

The 3 Most Common Myths About Success
Here are three of the most common success myths you may have heard, that I recommend you ignore if you want to transform your results and create a life you truly love living in order to re-pattern your thinking and attract more of what you’d love into your life.
1. People who succeed are lucky
I believe that there is no such thing as luck when it comes to success. Believing that luck brings people success means that we are at the mercy of circumstances, situations, and conditions beyond our control, for better or worse.
The belief that we are governed by elements external to us is the same belief that makes us victims instead of the architects of our own lives.
In reality, there is a power within each of us that is far greater than any circumstance, situation or condition we will ever find ourselves in. When we recognize this, we shift our energy into a higher vibrational frequency and start naturally attracting more opportunities for success into our lives.
Also, success requires action, and the actions we take are always within our control.
So achieving success has nothing to do with luck, but rather with recognizing that you are more powerful than your circumstances, that you can always choose to take action (or a different action) in service of your dreams!
2. Success requires sacrificing what matters most to you
We often hear sayings like “no pain, no gain,” or “everything comes at a cost,” but neither of these things is entirely true.
While transforming your dreams into reality can take time and energy, it doesn’t mean selling your soul or losing what brings you joy in the process.
Think about it… if you gain lots of financial abundance but have to work 80 hours a week and never see your family, is this really success? You have successfully earned money, but this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re successful in terms of what you’d like your overall life to look like.
Whatever your dream may be, here’s how to know if it’s worth your time and energy…
But if you have a clear vision for your dream and you test your dream to make sure it’s worthy of you and your life, it will naturally be aligned with what matters most to you.
There are 5 ways to test your dream to determine if it’s worthy of pursuing. Ask yourself the following:
- Does it give me life?
- Does it align with my core values?
- Does it require me to grow?
- Does it require the help of a higher power?
- Does it have good in it for others?
If you can answer “yes” to those 5 questions regarding your dream, your personal versions of success then it will not be requiring sacrificing what matters most to you!
Of course, there are only so many hours in a day. Each dream you choose to travel down a path toward means leaving another path untraveled for the time being.
But when you move in the direction of a dream that you would most love to have manifest in your life and that you know is worthy of your time and attention, you will never have to sacrifice what matters most to you.
3. If you get too successful, you’ll lose your friends and loved ones
The Law of Attraction holds that like attracts like. If you have a positive, optimistic outlook, for example, you’ll naturally attract more uplifting people and experiences into your life, even if your life circumstances change drastically as a result of your success.
Always do your best to surround yourself with forward-thinking, like-minded people who support you fully in your dream-building endeavors. These are the friends and family members who will be overjoyed for you, and who will celebrate you when you achieve the success you desire!
Success doesn’t guarantee a problem-free life
It’s also common to believe that once you achieve a certain level of success, suddenly life will be super easy and stress-free – and this just isn’t always the case! Life will always be full of ups and downs, and no matter how much money or measures of success you attain, you’ll still experience challenging periods in your life.
But the challenges you face will help you grow in strength and resilience, which will propel you forward in the pursuit of your dreams!
